You have masterfully crafted a story that was absolutely fun, sexy, sweet and hilarious!!!! And did I forget to mention, I had a big fat smile on my face the whole time I was reading this book.

The Matchmaker’s Playbook was outrageously fun, witty, and playful. This book is one of those reads that you will be devouring in one sitting. Trust me, you will fall madly in love with Ian and his buddy, Lex as they are your personal matchmakers.

The Matchmaker’s Playbook was utterly addicting!!!! This book had it all from banter, humor, charm, steam, and romance. I loved that RVD wrote this book in Ian’s POV. It allowed readers to get a fun insight on the inner workings of what he goes through when it comes to his dating services and Blake. So if you are looking for a book where an author wrote a perfect blend of humor, sass, romance, and charm then I urge you to read this book. Maybe some rules are meant to be broken, when it comes to love.

I listened to this series backwards so I had a good idea of what happened with Blake and Ian after reading the second book, but that did not keeping me from loving this story. I adored it.

Blake is a true heroine...she's a tomboy. She is NOT a girly-girl. She's a jock and doesn't really even know how to be feminine. So she comes to Wingmen Inc. for help to win the guy that she wants (hint it's not Ian). Ian takes her under his wing and then finds that he really likes her...despite everything that's wrong about her.

OMG, the buildup of the romance was so good in this...and funny. I loved Ian and his whole cocky, unapologetic attitude toward women and hooking up. He's a total manwhore. He's not a guy that you should like as a hero...just dang, but Rachel Van Dyken makes it work. I love how she does that with these guys. They shouldn't be likable because they really are jerks when it comes to women...BUT she makes the reader fall in love with them. I love her writing for that.

Narration...one word...PERFECTION! I highly recommend this book in audio version.
4-5 Stars- What a fun NA and interactive book. This is the first time I've read this type of book and hope it's not my last as it was enjoyable to get a visual after reading some of the scenes. I've read other YA and NA books by this author and her characters seem to have a certain maturity to them that makes them fun to read for this "over 40" reader. Ian(H) is your typical player and he stayed true to this character for a big part of the book. This worked for him as he had a type of business in which he needed to advise women on how to get together with the men they liked. He was their 'love coach."

His one-liners had me cracking up or smiling and they were consistent through the book. "We have a lot of work to do. Do you know what Victoria's Secret is?" It wasn't an instant love with Blake(h) the heroine either who he meets as a "client" and I liked that she was able to give back as good as she got. "I've gotta be real honest here. If you want to turn the head of the captain of the basketball team, we've got a lot of work to do." "You're an a**." Then he could be very sweet- "It wasn't that it had been too long without a girl. It was that it'd been a lifetime without the right one." Sigh....

I can't go into the story much without giving it away but the dialog between these two kept me turning the pages. The chemistry between the two was also a slow build that made their connection that much stronger. The side characters added to their story too and I'm looking forward to Lex and Gabi's book. "Looking good, Gabs. Run out of makeup this morning, or are you trying to look 12 so you can pay less for a movie ticket?" If you're a fan of this author then I highly recommend it.
